Aubrey Hole Plaque

Plaque mentioned in Time Team Special Stonehenge ~ Plaque reads:

Most of these bones were dug up in the years

1921, 1922, 1923 from those holes just inside the

bank of this monument and called aubrey holes

by the society of antiquaries of london in

connection with his majestys office of works

Some bones were found in the ditch The holes

were called after aubrey because he suggested

their existance in the year 1666

Reburied 1935
